Assir's Fortress

The story of this fortress, is the story of the Saudi region of Asir and its people. Every village in Asir had a watchtower, a fortress manned by its men, to protect it. These fortresses ultimately connected together to protect not just the two thousand villages individually, but the region as a whole from invaders. More than anything they protected a way of life, they protected a unique community.

This limited piece is inspired by these people and by this community. With its towering magnificence and its unwavering, solid material it celebrates the men of Asir; the warriors who dedicated their lives to protect their lands.
