The story of this fortress, is the story of the Saudi region of Asir and its people. Every village in Asir had a watchtower, a fortress manned by its men, to protect it. These fortresses ultimately connected together to protect not just the two thousand villages individually, but the region as a whole from invaders. More than anything they protected a way of life, they protected a unique community.

This limited piece is inspired by these people and by this community. With its towering magnificence and its unwavering, solid material it celebrates the men of Asir; the warriors who dedicated their lives to protect their lands. With its diverse artistic detail and its aesthetic beauty, it celebrates the women of Asir, who enriched this community with their vibrant, colorful art. Asir’s Fortress, ultimately, brings together power and beauty to celebrate Asir’s people coming together to create a unique community, and protect a beloved land!
